ABOUT US
Welcome to Daruma Kokobo, where history is unpicked, reimagined, and meticulously restitched for the modern world.
Our journey began in Hong Kong in 2019. Driven by a desire to keep our passion growing, we later relocated our entire workshop to the UK, where we continue our craft today. As an independent craft fashion label, we are dedicated to breathing new life into vintage Japanese textiles. We don’t just salvage antique fabrics—we honor the hands that wove them, transforming timeless heritage patterns into contemporary, worker-style garments and everyday utility accessories.
We apply resilience and renewal directly to modern fashion. Instead of letting beautiful, historical cloths fade into obscurity, we give them a well-deserved second life.
Sustainability Through Preservation We believe the most sustainable garment is one that already carries a history. By upcycling antique textiles, we drastically reduce waste while keeping cultural craftsmanship alive for generations to come.
Every item we create is shaped by the character of the rare, vintage textiles we source. We work with an array of authentic, traditional materials that tell a story through their textures and dyes, these are included Katazome, Kasuri & Kurume Kasuri, Kendoji, Kakishibu, Shima Momen, Indigo Blue Japanese Fabric (Aizome), Kimono Fabric or so on.
From our signature handmade wallets and custom key cases to our statement heritage worker jackets, absolutely nothing at Daruma Kokobo is mass-produced. Every single stitch is executed with the precision of a dedicated craftsman and the eye of an artist.
Because we work exclusively with limited vintage drops and rare antique finds, no two pieces are ever completely identical. When you wear or carry a Daruma Kokobo creation, you are carrying an exclusive, living fragment of textile history.
Thank you for supporting slow craft, intentional design, and heritage that lives on.
